Review on πŸ›οΈ Dream On Me Emily Changing Table - Steel Grey, 36.5x20x39 Inch (Pack of 1) by Mary Alvarado

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Very disappointing damaged parts

First the positives I love the look of this changing table, we used all the beech colored furniture and it goes perfectly with our cot which we bought along with the shelves from Wayfair from IKEA. I was happy to get a similar color from several brands and this is an attractive, simple changing table. We used 3 mint colored IKEA baskets (they are light green KUGGIS baskets) on the bottom shelf and they fit quite well, almost as low as needed and 3 fit nicely for headroom. Unfortunately they are not short enough to stack 2 on top of each other on the same shelf. We also used 2 gray felt storage baskets from IKEA (felt baskets with gray clasps) which also work well, along with a metal storage basket from Lowe's. Cons: This changing table is not very durable. Unfortunately, most of the support (the actual place where the baby goes and the shelves themselves) is made almost entirely of very thin chipboard, so this is definitely meant for a newborn and small child. I hope this holds up until potty training, at least until the end, maybe for our next child. We also had issues with damaged/unusable parts which was very frustrating. I bought it from Revain thinking it would be easy to get replacement parts and assumed Amazon would replace it if something was broken or just replace the whole changing table if there was a problem. It doesn't, you can return it in full, but if something is broken or unusable, Revain just redirects you to the Dream On Me website, which has its own problems. I would suggest going through every detail and checking everything. Screw holes to ensure they are properly threaded before proceeding with assembly. We had 2 shelf supports with screw holes that screwed in at an angle making it impossible to drive the screws in and install the bottom shelf. My husband fiddled with this for 2 hours and we can't finish it the way it is. Since it has very few supports leaving a shelf is not an option, it would not be safe to sit a child on it unless both shelves are installed with supports installed. Dream on me website sucks, form requests are not sent after you fill them out. I sent proof of purchase and described the problem as photos can't show it as it is literally the inside of tiny screw holes that weren't cut properly. Now they asked for a photo of a label on a box that didn't exist and again asked for photo proof of the problem. We are expecting our baby every day and it's so frustrating that they didn't check the quality of the product before sending it to the customers. Finally after exchanging emails I was informed that a replacement would be sent to us, that was almost 2 weeks ago and they are just arriving at FedEx for dispatch and are not expected for another week. If your baby is due soon, be aware that this can happen and your new parts won't be arriving quickly. It will probably take about a month if you fix it right away! Also note that the included changing pad is pretty much useless, it's less than an inch thick and offers minimal padding, and the regular spare pad doesn't usually fit on top of it, meaning you'll have to buy a new pad, I ordered the Summer Pad Infant Contour, which was new on eBay for $20. I'm not sure if higher quality changing tables come with more comfortable changing pads but that sucks, don't expect it to be the exact changing pad you will actually use! Overall the quality of this changing table is not worth $90 in my opinion. I wish I could pay more and buy a better quality table that would have fewer problems at the end of my pregnancy!
