3 Year Review of Travel Luggage & Gear

01/06/18*4 Year Review*My colleague Gary recently became homeless (long story). He completely refused any help from me or anyone but this morning I gave him my Everest backpack. I knew from years of use that it would serve him well. The inner lining is still waterproof and the backpack fits everything he needs to take with him. Let's hope Gary gets back on his feet soon. In the meantime, he'll have a great backpack that will serve him as well as it has me. out of the bag. It's filled to the brim with freeze-dried food, camping gear, batteries, a sleeping bag, and other supplies. The two side pockets are great for storing 5.56/9mm cartridges, extra magazines and a water filter kit. Being ready is great! 06/29/2016*Reviewed for 2 years*The bag is still going strong. Rain showers, heavy loads and rough handling. I'm still amazed at the durability of this pack compared to its price. I would recommend it to weekend lovers and hikers alike. *60 day recap* For the two months I've had this backpack, I've used it DAILY to carry whatever I could fit in it. I was even able to fit a double size inflatable mattress from Wal-Mart (yes, in the box). As I found in my 30-day test, the bag's adjustable shoulder straps wear out after such use. Also, the stitching that connects some of the straps to the backpack are showing signs of wear due to heavy and frequent use. Don't worry about the problems I face. As I mentioned, I ride my bike so I rely heavily on this bag and fill it up regularly (which I might add I'm still very impressed with). It's waterproof, as evidenced by my frequent commuting to and from work in the pouring rain. I can still highly recommend this bag. Email me at jakefranklin1989@gmail.com if you would like photos to better show the condition of the backpack. still very satisfied. I ride my bike and carry this bag every day and use it to carry groceries and clothes so of course I checked its weight and load limits. A small issue I noticed is that the adjustable straps for raising or lowering the pack are starting to wear out. Again, I use this backpack daily and it's only a $30 backpack so I guess I have nothing to complain about. A 90-day review is pending. This backpack is spacious and comfortable. I would be comfortable if I had to put a lot of weight on it. But as for the hip belts, should they go across the torso or closer to the waist? I read some reviews that led me to believe that the waist straps were sitting too high for me and should fit around my waist instead.
