Review on WHITE BLACK+DECKER 14,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner with Heat and Remote Control for 350 sq ft, BPACT14HWT by Conrad Greene

I love this portable AC device. Bought this for our upstairs master bedroom which is about 400 square feet. ft. I didn't want to run central air conditioning for 2200 sq. ft. Feet for only one room at night so it made sense to buy this unit. Good: + cools the room quickly + looks good + doesn't have to drain the water as often. Maybe once or twice during the hot season.+ Easy to install and set up.+ Not as noisy as I thought. The fan is quiet and when the compressor kicks in you increase the decibels, but that doesn't bother me. It looks like air conditioners in Las Vegas rooms. + The exhaust hose and components seem to do an excellent job of keeping heat out of the house. Make sure the distance between the device and your window is short enough. What needs improvement: The display's light blue backlight will brighten up your entire room. I have to cover it with a magazine at night so it doesn't get dark. The plumbs and seals that come with the kit are cheap and break easily. Make sure you put them on correctly the first time. Otherwise, prepare for a trip to your local hardware store. The 3-piece section that fits your window is uneven, providing small gaps for hot air to enter. This is easily solved by sealing it with tape. PS 1. Don't forget to leave it on for 24 hours before starting work. PS 2. This device draws 10.8 amps. Make sure the AC plug you are using will not stress and trip the fuse box. I've used it where there were other lights, TVs and game consoles and it cut my 15 amp fuse box.
