Review on πŸ”§ Denso Fuel Pump 9510001 by Derrick Lowell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

20,505 miles since install - works great

Installed this pump on my 2001 Camry LE. The pump looks identical to the OEM fuel pump it replaced. Fixed the issue with misfires on startup. It also eliminates the vibrations I'm used to under hard acceleration. I've had the pump installed for a few months (about 5000 miles) and had no problems. I found the installation a bit fiddly. It lasted a few hours and involved a lot of YouTube views. Everything would have gone much smoother if I had been more careful when removing the old pump from the case. I'm an absolute beginner in coloring. For those more experienced and mechanically savvy, the swap can likely be completed in under an hour. I bought a "Denso Fuel Pump Filter 952-0006" instead of the Delphi model that Revain lists as commonly purchased with this pump. It cost a little more, but it was worth it for me to have the filter and pump from the same manufacturer. When removing the pump assembly, the black glue holding the cap is very dirty in the Florida heat. I would recommend doing this on a cool morning if you live in a hot area. When attaching the filter/strainer, I found it easier to put the retaining ring on the slightly smaller diameter socket. Snapping it in place with a screwdriver isn't as easy as the YouTube videos make it seem. (photo of the entire build, this pump fits in the top of the tan sleeve) Update: It's been 20,505 miles since I installed these. the fuel pump works fine.
