This coffee maker makes the best cup of coffee I have ever made in my own home and I have worked with coffee makers for 40 years. It's elegantly simple, but has some very clever design elements. I only have two complaints. The thick cord on the kitchen table is difficult to manage, but I understand why it's needed. This is the only cable I want to make shorter. And the plastic plate under the jug keeps coming off when I put the brewer on the counter, what should I do to fill it up. But this disk is not needed in my opinion, so I just left it. I hooked it up to a timer so my coffee would be ready when I got up on weekdays. (If you're connecting to a timer, make sure the timer can handle the load of the amp.) It also works well as a one-cup coffee maker; Just set the cup on something a few inches high to elevate it a bit and adjust the cone to drip slowly. The cone setting is excellent. I close it completely before pouring and never a drop remains on the counter. The slow setting is great for the small amount of coffee I brew 90% of the time. And also . . . five year guarantee! It was worth the price for that alone. I'm tired of the "disposable" technique.
