Review on L.E.G.O. Creator Emerald Night Train by Trey Dikici

Revainrating 5 out of 5

You'll be blinded by sheer magnificence

This train. Oh man. If you have a young child who is both into Lego and trains, you could be in trouble. It has a lot of detail and is fun to build but might be too complex for say a 5 year old without much adult supervision and help. Then a year after you first got it when a long time ago it was taken apart and all the pieces were thrown into a box with other Legos and your kid says he wants to put it back together and you dig up the original instructions. Booklet, and now you have to find those obscure pieces in a huge box full of other Legos, you'll wonder why there isn't a Google app that takes a picture of a full Lego box and highlights the exact piece you're looking for to the. In any case, I think the other reviewers covered all the specific technical details in sufficient detail. You can get an engine to replace the engine compartment so the train actually runs on rails (Lego brand). But the included engine block is a lot of fun to build - various interlocking gears and axles which my 5 year old (with help) had a blast building and seeing in action. There are many possibilities with Lego sets of this size and complexity. A reward for the dedicated builder, as there are many internal parts not visible from the outside that you collect during the building process.
