Over the moon with this little photographic monster.

Bought this camera about a year ago to get into photography. I was hesitant at first as I know how expensive good cameras can be and this was on the lower end of the price range but after seeing what it can do I am very happy with this purchase. At 24 megapixels, it's a beast. I don't use autofocus lenses for this because vintage manual focus lenses are a lot cheaper and to be honest it's a bit more fun than just pressing the shutter button and letting the camera do the work. Vintage lenses are easily adapted to this type. Literally just a metal collar that switches from one attachment to another. There are adapters for more modern lenses, but they tend to be a lot more expensive and you don't get the same autofocus speed as E-mount lenses. Don't be afraid of manual settings. It will certainly broaden your horizons as to what else you can do in photography. Bottom line: if you want to get into photography without shelling out $3,000-$4,000 on a high-end DSLR, this is the way to go. I'm sure it will turn off even the most seasoned photographer. However, if you want to get into cinematography, this might not be the best choice for you in the long run. It might be worth spending a little more for the a6300 as this model will record 4k60fps, 1080p120fps for slow motion.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
