This stocking is ridiculously detailed! It may take me a full year or more to sew this beast but in the end it will be a masterpiece that I will probably regret not being able to frame rather than leaving the house for 1 month a year! I love that it's realistic, natural looking and realistic like all stockings in the Gold collection that aren't cartoonish. I chose this stocking for my unborn child because it is unisex. I like that there are animals, snow and a church in the background. No gifts or Santa Claus! It is, as they say, HARD. There are half crosses for shading and multiple layers of decoration. It's basically a solid stitch and there's a lot behind it. So if you don't break the pattern, it's going to be very overwhelming. The pattern is small so I copied it and enlarged it by 200% so I can see without glasses. I didn't like the thread organizer so I took them off and wound them onto my own labeled spools. Also, stocking materials are cheap (in my opinion) for something you're going to spend so much time on. So when I get there I will buy my own materials to craft them. But when it comes to pattern and yarn, I feel like such a great pattern. I think these Dimensions Gold patterns are the BEST stocking patterns on the market right now. Get it now before you have to pay more than $100 on ebay when they are discontinued! Check if you don't believe me ;)
