Eliminates the blind spot on the left side
After installing this mirror I don't think I can go back to the old flat mirror look. I see cars pull up to my left until they appear in the driver's left window. As others have pointed out, the OEM mirror is missing a portion of this mirror. I installed this mirror without this part and it works great.
