I did not receive the valve

Okay, I wanted the valve to be able to turn gas flow on and off. Looked at the description and the picture - check. I have "valve" and .HUH? From the outside it looks exactly like the picture, but inside there is no valve assembly - a solid pipe, there is no way to shut off the gas supply. YES, REALLY?! How did it happen? I'm going back and looking for another brand.
