I bought two of these mounts, one for each car. Installed this on the dashboard and then tried moving it to a different location. The base of the "suction cup" is so sticky that I had a hard time getting it off and ended up having to grab both the tab on the "suction cup" and the top of the mount to detach it. This separated the top part from the bottom part. The two parts are connected at the top by a pin that goes through a hole in the shaft at the bottom. I examined the connection between the two pieces and found that they were underdesigned and didn't provide enough plastic for the shaft below. around the top of the hole. When I tried to remove the device, the thin plastic at the top of the stem broke off fairly easily. The UPS Store and UPS pack it for free. THIS IS NOT COMPLETELY TRUE! Turns out only a few UPS stores participate and my local UPS store is not one of them. So I had to pay UPS $2.12 for a package that I could easily have made myself. BEWARE!
