Does not filter metallic taste.
I have a brand new fridge from scratch and a dent that didn't arrive with a filter. We've had good luck with previous unbranded filters in the past and this one had good reviews so I went with it. We installed the first 2 gallons and immediately drained to make sure all lines are clean. I waited 12 hours for the reservoir in the fridge to fill up and the water to cool. When I finally took a sip, the taste was terrible. I'm not a fan of our tap water, it tastes like tap water so I would only drink filtered water from the fridge. I immediately bought a branded filter from LG, arrived, installed it. After dropping a gallon, the water becomes 100% tastier. So I wouldn't recommend it at all.
