I have a Burley trailer that was working great until last March (2017) when the hitch broke. So I bought a new one here at Revain. Was working fine until it broke last week (see attached picture) and luckily no one was hurt. I was disappointed that it didn't last long but I use the pendant to take my child to daycare almost every day so I ordered another one. Maybe he doesn't like our cold Colorado weather? Anyway, this second one came WITH NO HOLES to actually attach the flex connector to the hitch. The clutch is identical to the previous clutch except for this important part which needs fitting - see the second photo with the broken part next to the new clutch. Even the instructions that came with the hitch show the holes. I'm hoping for a response from Burley customer service but am very disappointed - either they mislabeled or packaged another type of clutch or they just have a super defective batch. Either way poor quality control. UPDATE: I contacted support and they informed me that a small batch of defective clutches went to Revain. They were very responsive and helpful and sent me a replacement for the no hole hitch, so that's a bit of a positive because the great customer service, well, great :) UPDATE #2: I got a replacement hitch with a hole quickly. Hooray! It broke the day after installation. It was 20 degrees outside and obviously these plastic couplers cannot be used or stored below freezing. Good to know - this information is hidden in the user manual. It's funny how the first plastic hitch that came with the trailer even survived the winter here in Colorado! We had him for the first 6 years. Perhaps the production has changed since then. Anyway, the support team suggested I upgrade to Steel Hitch. So. DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU LIVE WHERE IT'S COLD! :)
