Batteries needed to be changed twice a week

I love the idea of this time and I love not having to use my phone to set little timers all day. However, I've changed the batteries twice in the short time I have, and not even with daily use. I thought maybe the first time was an accident, but no. 3-4 days have passed since the last exchange and they died again.
