I opened the box and noticed how badly chemically damaged it was. I read another review that said the smell went away so I decided to give it a try and see if that's true. I've been collecting it for half a week now and it's still just as strong. Skin contact with upholstered furniture irritates my skin, probably due to the odor it gives off. The smell permeates my clothes and gives me a distinct chemical odor when I'm not at my desk. I'm beginning to think that the smell, rather than the fumes, is making this room difficult to breathe. I am returning this defective item.
