First, these shelves are perfect for what I use them for wanted to use; mount my computer's speakers on the wall next to the monitor, so I have 4 of these. The problem is that the silver screw cap has to snap onto the brass washer that the screw goes through, but 4 of the 8 silver cap are already snapped in, which makes them impossible to remove and use. I've tried several ways to get it out but it's there forever. I think maybe they somehow squeezed into the boxes during shipping but I think it is more likely someone on the assembly line snagged it in there without knowing what they were doing, if the brass washer and silver cap were in different bags this certainly wouldn't have happened I will post my review change depending on how the seller responds to my message as I think these are really reliable shelves. I only received poorly packaged mounting material.
