They do seem to make the chassis more rigid.
Noticeable improvement in cowl shake going over bumps as these remove compliance in the standard door bushings causing a very rigid fit between the doors and the unibody. There may be cheaper options out there, but these require no trimming. I wish they were black but they work so well I'm happy with them.
