Today's HEI distributors have a hard time finding a product that isn't a random "Amazon branded product". Despite the negative reviews, I chose this retailer because of the brand. A big problem with most if not all distributors on the market today is the hardware that is used in them. One thing I've always done at non-GM dealerships is put AC Delco ICM (ignition control module) part number D1906 in them. 99% of distributors use cheap Chinese ICM knockoffs and MSD is no exception. So if you're buying from a non-GM dealer, this should be the first thing you do before installing it on your car. Another step I take with all splitters, ESPECIALLY when using an aluminum input, is to take the black wire (one red, one brown, and one black) from the capacitor to the coil and wire it with a long 16/14-g -Connect cables to use it as a secondary ground. Aluminum isn't the best conductor, so it's always better to have another ground source right on the coil. I personally use a ring connector at the end of the wire and attach the bolt directly to the frame or body. I believe that following these two steps will fix 90% of the bad reviews that appear here.
