Review on PIONEER Air Conditioner Foldable Condenser by Matthew Peterson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Great brackets, cheap grommets, screws are useless for stud walls.

I used brackets to wall install a Mini 12,000 BTU split system. Paint looks good. Annoyingly, the bolts and bushings that come with vibration dampers serve only a limited purpose. The screws are hollow wall dowels. It's bad if you mount it on the wall from nails - in studs. So the screws had to be removed. Next, the rubber pads that the air conditioning sits on are flimsy and flimsy. My A/C condenser weighs about 45 pounds and the pads are almost fully compressed after two weeks. If this trend continues I will have a metallic rumble very soon. At some point they will have to be replaced. Next come the screws. Mount the condenser on standoffs that screw directly to the bracket from the bottom so that the screw itself provides a path for the vibrations to the wall. Overall, the mounting hardware is just poor anti-noise design. It will keep the air conditioner against the wall - no doubt about it, but louder than necessary. I'm glad I tried this setup on a garage wall and not a house wall.
