We got this for our sink. Most of the time, when we turn on the faucet, the water smells bad and tastes funny. But only in the bathroom. We have a water softener and filtration system for the whole house which should have solved any problems. But after investigating we were told it was probably caused by the pipes leading to the bathroom. Our house was built in the 50's and most of the original plumbing is still working. It has been suggested that old scale probably built up in the pipes after clean water leaked into the bathroom plumbing, causing taste and odor issues. Rather than incur the expense of removing all of those pipes and either replacing or cleaning them, which would cost more than we can currently afford, we decided to purchase a filter just for our sink. With a little help from my dad we installed this under the sink and so far so good! I no longer notice the smell when the water is turned on and it tastes so much better than ever. We only installed it a few days ago but I can already see a difference in the quality of the water that comes out of the tap. So far I am very satisfied with this product. Time will tell how long this lasts. Supposed to last a year, but we'll see!
