Review on πŸ“ Bosch Professional Laser Measure GLM 30 - A Must-Have for Professionals by Micheal Chaplain

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Extremely bare bones - unlike any other GLM-30!

So there are (at least) two Bosch products called "GLM-30". It only has one button. The other has 5 buttons and many more functions. Oddly enough, simpler doesn't mean less, and it doesn't even mean cheaper. It's only worse. Why does it exist? The only thing it can do is add lengths. why do you want it I have no idea. It does not have a continuous measurement mode. The last 3 measurements you took are not displayed. It takes one dimension when you press the button. That's all. You can switch between feet and meters. It's the only feature, and despite what they say, the way you do it is pretty non-intuitive. Worst of all, it doesn't measure a fraction of a foot in inches like the other GLM-30 (or any normal person) in foot mode. It is measured in thousandths of a foot. I've never seen anyone need or want that. You will often pull out your calculator. What is 20.815 feet? Multiply by 12. Okay, that's about 20 feet 9 3/4 inches. Not everything is that bad. It's a great size and the rubber bumper makes it easy to hold and it's fast and accurate. The shell is good. I know they can make a decent measuring laser because I have used other models from them including another "GLM-30". How could they ruin this one so much?
