After reviewing several Fluke models, I found that this one has more features at the lowest price. That's typical Fluke quality: well built, fast and accurate. I also bought a Fluke i200 current clamp. I bought it as my personal meter but I plan to use the same combination for work and field use for testing and troubleshooting up to 575 volts AC, 24 volts DC, 4-20 mA DC and AC up to 100 amps to buy. UPDATE 2/7/2019: I ended up buying a second Fluke 179 for work. It still works great even after nine years of daily use. I bought a third to replace a 15-20 year old Fluke that literally traveled the world to call customer service - it still works but some segments of the display are dark. The 179s that I bought in 2009 and 2010 have a faint green display backlight. The 179 model that I bought in 2019 has a bright white display backlight. Otherwise the multimeters appear to be identical.
