Fused lids when received, NOT sealed with or without lid intact

Unfortunately two lids were welded to the glass part of the container when I received them. I ordered 2 sets, this problem occurred with every set I ordered. When trying to carefully remove the cover for pre-cleaning, the rubber seal of the covers welded to the glass broke. Whether or not the seal is retained, these are not airtight containers. As a result, I've been using them, but not for their intended purpose, which is to store flour, sugar, and baked goods. I would not recommend these containers. The glass part is also flimsy and appears to break easily if dropped or even washed in the dishwasher.
