It's actually not that bad once you figure out the angles and limits.

Yes, it's rocket science. That's why the installation took so long. Actually, it's not that bad if you define the angles and limits of the amount of lift compared to the distance to the block on the sidewall. I'm very picky and have worked with limited space and 21ft surf kayaks/skis. The price really bothered me initially compared to 3 other elevators that were purchased for less than $30 each. I saw at a fair where you can get a discount, but the price put me off. The main block/cam should account for a significant portion of the cost. I later realized how close to the ceiling I could store my toys and decided to give it a try. I can literally lift the kayak to the ceiling. I have found that there is a place just under one kayak to store another. It was easy to install a second lift in the same area offset by about 4 inches in length. For the second setup I put the bolts 1" wider on the same mounting boards and put the block organizer on a small 2x4 to change the height of the two sets of ropes so they don't rub. Now I can fold 2 kayaks and onto the top in seconds - or access subpage The fare is forgotten if a new credit card statement shows up before the woman finds the current one.
