The sound quality is quite acceptable. As a 24/96 DAC it is quite suitable for the average user. The headphone output is also pretty good for most headphones, especially dynamic low-impedance cans. The unique selling point of this device in the budget hi-fi sector are the connections on the back. It has both preamp outputs (to an amplifier) and line level inputs and outputs (to connect to a cassette deck). Record the same music on an old hi-fi cassette deck for beautiful, clean recordings that far exceed CD and vinyl quality. Not bad for $89 thanks to Monoprice.
