Upgrade. I took this one apart in a last ditch attempt to fix it until I found a replacement. It turns out that if you loosen the large nut behind the magnet mount and remove it from the sphere, a simple bolt holds the two-piece magnet mount together, which only needed tightening to be as good as new. I bet someone driving my car tried to turn the magnet without using the plastic nut behind it and got it loose. . I have now reinstalled it as it was perfect for my car before it "broke". Update: The pan function has mysteriously broken, the phone shakes and bounces, and nothing I've tried has helped tighten it. This is the part of the magnet that is loose, not the screw attachment. Damn. Didn't last long. Tiny, ez, pops into my dashboard when not in use (rarely anymore). I have to adjust the phone's position regularly, but I never worry about it falling. The weight of the phone moves toward the inflection point. Basically a great specification. by price.
