HEATED PCV VALVE FOR FORD F150 4.2 -2001

This is for my F150 4.2 engine. Ford had a great idea to run hot water around the PCV valve to make the valve open faster in cold weather. That's it. I'm sure the engineer is in a madhouse with his sketch pad working on new ideas as I write this. This valve is a good spot for a water leak as it is far away on the passenger side valve cover and you cannot see the water hose connections. And that's a problem when the hose wears out and starts leaking, and it's a tiny leak. This is one thing to check if you have a 4.2 water leak. Not all engines have this heated version. This happens when the engine is not idling properly or consistently, then this is one thing to check. The carbon makes them sticky on the inside. Water pipes need to be checked as they rust.

Pros
  • PCV Valves
Cons
  • Out of fashion
