I've had this black hat for about a week now. I'm happy with that. It meets my three needs in one hat: protects my eyes from the sun, warms my ears and matches my long hair. The beak is long enough to actually provide protection from the sun; this is comparable to a standard baseball cap. The cap itself has a slight stretch and is less structured than a regular baseball cap, giving it a slightly different look on the head, accentuated by the presence of ears. I don't mind the looks, but it's a little different than what I expected. My husband said it looked "British". It doesn't look trendy or "cute", at least not with my round face, but the function just interested me when I ordered it, so no problem. easily fold up or down as needed and they adequately cover my ears. The ponytail opening is in the same position as the hole in a standard trucker cap, maybe a little higher. I found it easiest to gather the hair and pull it through the hole before adding a hair tie to secure it. I'm taking off a star because the hat is a bit tight. I have a medium sized head and have never had a problem with hats that fit me so I think this one is a little too small. It's not too tight to be unusable, but I would have preferred it to be a bit larger or adjustable.
