One of the first differences you'll notice is that it's measured in inches from the bottom of the square, not the interior intersection where the reference edge meets the 90° angle. For setting up tools I find this difference valuable and useful as I can set this square on a router table and use a ruler to set the height of the router just like a blade on a table saw. Also, on the 45° side, measurements are taken from bottom to top rather than along the length of the delta wing.
