This printer is a real gem! Less than two weeks after I received this printer, it stopped printing. It pretended to be typing, but there were just a few light gray streaks on the side. I bought new cartridges (more than $70 worth) but the problem persisted. After spending several hours on the phone with HP technical support, they concluded that the printer was defective. Sent"new" (refurbished) under warranty. A few weeks later the same problem reappeared. Again we spent hours on the phone with HP's customer service and warranty department and they informed us that they could only replace a printer of the same model (ie no refund of the purchase price). I found that unacceptable and we are still waiting to hear if there is anything else they can do. I chose this printer because I needed a duplex printer. In 2001 I bought an HP 970cxi and this year (15 years later) it finally broke. They definitely don't make them the way they used to be.
