For a long trip you need to buy three of these devices. It took me a minute to figure out how they work, but once I did, installation was relatively easy. My youngest's bike almost didn't fit him. I had to raise her seat so there was enough room to insert the brace. You also need to be careful when grabbing the brace to release it. If not, the spring-loaded bar will pinch your hand/finger quite hard. Lol: If you do, it's a mistake you'll only make once! Overall, however, this product was exactly what we needed and at a price I thought was reasonable. Driven a total of 2200 miles with them and they still work.
