I bought this for my mother who recently moved out of the house to live on her own. She has cable TV for her phone with only one line. This works well since I placed the wired unit next to her bed and the wireless unit next to her chair. She had an old wired device that was about ten years old. The wireless device does not ring loudly. Caller ID on a wired device is difficult to read because the display only lights up when the handset is off hook. In general, she is very happy with them. She hears him calling and is able to step in to talk to him. The directions were too complicated. They need to be simplified. Assembly was easy if you didn't follow the instructions.
