Review on ๐Ÿšฒ Topeak MTX Trunk Bag DXP - Enhanced Bicycle Trunk Bag with Sturdy Molded Panels by Andrew Gomez

Heavy and bulky - Cycling

First, the quality of the bag is good, so no problem. I was disappointed with this weight. This bag only weighs 3 pounds. Add the weight of the rack (Topeak Explorer Pack - 3lbs) and you have an extra 6lbs hanging off your back. I know it sounds weird but I really struggled to maneuver the bike with all that weight on my back. I thought it would be a good touring setup but decided to ditch this thing or at least put it aside for something else. I like the attachment system that slides in and locks into place; no problem with that. While this attachment system is good, it has the unfortunate side effect that you can't just drop it on the floor or table as it will scratch anything you put it on. In just a few weeks, the bag took the paint off the bike rack. I also don't like the thin padding on the bottom of the bag; If I drive over bumps, everything flies in the bag. Once I passed a woman, at the same time I drove onto a bump and she screamed. This bag is great if I ever go on a cross country trip and need to carry a bunch of crap. With expandable side pockets you can pack the thing properly.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Doubtful
