I recently returned to the sport after being away from cycling for more than a decade. I had several pairs of SPD compatible pedals so I needed a new pair of shoes and didn't want to spend a fortune. These shoes are exactly what I wanted. I use MTB pedals on my road bike because I like to walk. It is great. A stiff outsole for power transmission, a breathable upper and straps ensure a perfect fit. I'm glad I didn't spend another $100 on a more luxurious pair of shoes. They may not have a big name or hand stitching, but they are great for recreational cyclists.
