Great camera for what it's supposed to do at an affordable price

I bought this camera as a backup camera for my smartphone. I personally hate smartphone cameras. Photos may be good, but when it comes to videos, even the iPhone leaves something to be desired. I first bought a new iPhone 11 ($1,500 purchase) for its video capabilities and triple cameras, but returned it a day and a half later. The cost of buying a Pixel 3 paired with this Canon g7x Mark 3 is cheaper than an iPhone, and the camera on it blows any smartphone camera out of the water. I bought this camera after learning that a lot of people had autofocus and overheating issues. I'm not one to listen to what people have to say, so I decided to take a look for myself. the price I received. 4K up to 10 minutes continuously (until you get the overheating icon, at which point you can switch to 1080p) // I'm using this for a vlog. Personally, I think that someone who has trouble conveying thoughts in under 10 minutes might want to take the time and collect their thoughts before just saying. Slow motion at 120fps as well as 60fps - which is frankly great. Yes, if you play 120fps continuously, you will get the overheating icon. But if you shoot in series, as it should, this shouldn't be a problem. Mic input for clear audio while vlogging! Slow motion video with manual controls! You have the option to switch between automatic and manual mode. moving screen. The autofocus works well as long as you don't push it to the extreme. Of course, if you don't focus right in front of the lens and then try to focus at infinity while reducing the aperture to F1.8, then you're going to have problems. – especially in a system based on contrast-based face recognition. Use the autofocus like a regular person with some degree of camera proficiency and you'll be fine. Firmware update helped a little to make it faster. And that's pretty much all I need. I would like to do better. I want the camera sensor to have better dynamic range. Whites tend to wash out, or when whites are fully exposed in the highlight area, dark tones tend to be very dark. But compared to pictures from a cell phone, that's more than enough. I wish the special ring on the lens could be compared to focusing. If I had manual focus and ring control instead of shutter or ISO - that would be great! And if he had a cold shoe, maybe on the side or underneath. I need to purchase a separate accessory mount to get a cold shoe for my Rode Wireless Go Microphone. Beyond that, let's look at what this camera isn't. This is not a cell phone cam. If you want to record boring dance performance for your kid or family members that lasts an hour and still no one is watching, this camera is not for you. This is not a film camera. You don't get all the manual controls that come with all other custom watch faces, and you can't record in a high quality codec like Prores. This is the main difference between the Sony RX100 Mark 7 and this camera. The RX100 is essentially a pocket-sized Sony a6400 with no interchangeable lens. - but if I'm looking for a film camera, I'll pick a film camera, not the RX 100 (especially considering that this camera costs the same price as the a6400). I've been using this camera for over a month now and it has replaced pretty much every multimedia my phone could have done. I can stream all the pictures I'm taking over Bluetooth. When it comes to transferring videos I've captured on my phone, I just use an SD card key that I put in my Pixel 3 and literally just copy the files.
