Firstly I am not a professional window tinting specialist or anything far from the industry. But I have a large west-facing glass door and four large windows, and in the Texas summer, the heat from the door and windows can be quite uncomfortable. So I decided that before I buy any product for my doors and windows I will test it on my door and see how it works. I received the 27" x 6' product in blue. The film came folded tightly with instructions. This may be a user issue, but I found that the 'sticky' side of the film was blue and the reflective side was silver (almost like a double sided window) leading me to believe the setup was meant for the outdoors!?! I measured out the areas, partially removed the protective plastic covering, sprayed soapy water on both the adhesive side and the glass and began started working on the film to remove air bubbles. I happened to have a rubber blade so I used that to get as much water out of the film as possible, which took a while (like rebar). I used a ruler and a razor blade to trim the edges. The whole operation from start to finish took 45 minutes. The final product looked good, although not perfect. There were still visible flaws and it wasn't the product, it was all Mainly because of my lack of skills as a window film fitter. Here are my observations - I think this product works. It does what it was designed to do. It's relatively easy to moderately difficult to install (depending on your skills and tools) and appears to block some of the sunlight. Most of the time was spent removing air bubbles and aligning the film properly. I think as a DIY project for a small space (like doors or windows) this could be the right product. But in my case I have a large area to cover and tend to hire a professional to install the window tint after going through the installation process.
