I am an avid runner and of course I use a lot of soft bottles. I've always assumed they're all about the same, so I went with these collapsible bottles without much thought. When they arrived I noticed that they were thinner and longer than the ones I usually use with my trusty Ultimate Direction backpack. These bottles have a very narrow neck, so the cap is also very small. I guess I'm just used to wide openings, so I see potential problems with these bottles in the assist points when trying to fill them. They work well when there's a cooler with a tap, but I see it messy when aid stations just use jugs of water to fill bottles. They are 500ml like all the other bottles I use but they are longer and thinner. than I'm used to. They protrude an inch more out of my pocket compared to traditional wide-mouth bottles and while I was sure this would be an issue, once I got used to them protruding, the height difference turned out not to be an issue . They don't slip out of their mounts or hit my chest as I run down the street. The blue plastic feels durable. I feel like these can take a beating. The spout is the type you bite down to get water, but the flow rate is smaller than other bottles. Not bad, but an observation. If you want a spout that delivers the maximum amount of water at all times, this may disappoint you. For the first few uses, I swear the tops leaked while I was running. After just a few uses I don't notice the water droplets anymore, so maybe they just needed to be broken up. My biggest fear is cleaning them. I'm terrible at cleaning my water bottles after every run and those tiny little holes aren't going to make my life easier and so probably aren't cleaned every time. Other than that minor complaint, they seem to fit really well.
