Review on ๐Ÿถ Ultimate Control for Your Canine: Dog Head Collar Halter Red in 6 Sizes by Anthony Starr

Great aesthetics, terrible execution. Evaluation of the service dog handler.

I have 4 large German Shepherds ranging in weight from 70 to 110 pounds. Two large service dogs are being trained for me and my brother. Head halters are much better for working dogs as they and the leashes attached to them won't get tangled in their gear and allows for better training and performance, especially with sdits. I bought this as a post workout head halter as I thought wider straps and a "thicker" nose pad would be great as my partner will be wearing it a lot. Unfortunately, the "thick" padding is nothing more than $1 headphone foam from the '90s with a terrible back seam sticking out of the material. Aesthetics were great, my sdit looked great. But the halter doesn't close, so it kept untwisting so much that it fell off my boy's nose. The only time it stayed taut was when my boy broke his heel and pulled on the leash. What a no-no is, he has learned not to do on duty. With this halter on her head, the manatee practically wore a halo around her nose. At first I thought it was just my sdit which is weird but after trying it on my brother's sdit and one of my other dogs it's not us it's a halter. I know it looks prettier than the delicate Leader variety, but it doesn't work, and that's a major factor.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Safety
