Update: broken after two months

A few weeks ago I rated this halter positively. It works as described and is very effective. But today, exactly two months after the purchase, the lower nylon strip of the leash is connected to the clasp. I have attached some photos. It's almost cut. The dog did not bite or play. We do not leave harnesses and leashes for games. If he sits on a dog, they cannot bite him. Is it either a poor quality control process and that particular item slipped through the cracks, or is it just poor quality…

Works incredibly well

Much better than what you buy at the pet store for $30. My dogs hated them and ripped them right out of their faces. It's harder to get rid of and they seemed to get used to it much quicker. Going through them went from absolutely miserable to a breeze. They're pretty strong too - my pit bull tried to buck behind the squirrel and pulled hard on the leash and it didn't break, but also pulled his snout to the side making him forget about the squirrel. It was unrealistic - my puppy has been alive…

  • Great for a small home

BUY IT IF YOU HAVE A REMOVER!

I have tried everything to stop my 1 year old labrador from flinching. Various collars, leashes, training methods. Hundreds of dollars later, with my shoulder and elbow twisted and the icy city streets of winter approaching, I was in despair. Nothing worked until I got this halter head. A few months ago I tried the Gentle Leader Signature halter when he was much younger with no success; it was thin and he tore it off. This halter is for my big boy. He even has a martingale stretcher on his…

I have 4 large German Shepherds ranging in weight from 70 to 110 pounds. Two large service dogs are being trained for me and my brother. Head halters are much better for working dogs as they and the leashes attached to them won't get tangled in their gear and allows for better training and performance, especially with sdits. I bought this as a post workout head halter as I thought wider straps and a "thicker" nose pad would be great as my partner will be wearing it a lot. Unfortunately, the…

Take your time with this great collar

I knew a previous version of this type of collar would not work on a large dog that could pull you like a dog. Sled and come out in faith. But so far so good. Annie is 106 pounds, part Great Dane, part Lab, and not overweight but muscular, a wonderful working dog. I am a 78 year old 125 lb elderly woman who can fall in strong winds. But I rescued her when she was 75 pounds, trained her to be a medicine dog, she is kindhearted and soulful. Although she would never knowingly knock me down or pull

Excellent halter, compare to Gentle Leader.

I will compare it to the Gentle Leader as it is the most popular and common when it comes to halters. I'd like to start off by saying that I started using a head halter because my dog started pulling and running amok when he walked. Firstly I like that it looks more like a harness on my dog's head, I will attach pictures for reference. The soft leash sags a few inches, but doesn't let my dog trip over the leash or get the leash between his legs. The soft leash tends to fit snugly against the…
