I needed a small fan that could be used on a shady porch. I have a ceiling fan which is pretty good, but on a very hot, humid day it doesn't move the air much. I wanted something to put on a side table that doesn't take up a lot of space but actually does something. This fan isn't like those stupid hand fans, it's a real fan. It won't cope with the whole room, but it will easily help you in a small area, even outside, on a hot day. The fact that you don't have to plug it into an outlet makes it easy to move around and then it simply folds up into the smallest of spaces for storage. Charging from a standard USB port is used for many devices. Even my wife who hates some of the things I buy loves them!
