I took a chance based on online reviews and am very happy with the control and comfort of this paddle. I was intrigued by the "textured surface" so I bought the ball because I had already given it enough spin. I have to admit that this paddle adds another 15-20% spin ratio depending on your speed. He also seems to grab the ball for better control on dings and soft shots. Doesn't pop as hard as the previous racket, but its sound exudes subtle control rather than just brute force. Offers more dexterity around the net and a visible arc shape on harder ground shots. For the price, the apparent quality (it's only been a week), and the performance, I'm happy with a 3.5 to 4.0. A nice tote bag and sweatbands are additional features.
