Review on πŸ“€ STORi Stackable Clear Plastic DVD Holder: Organize 14 Standard DVD Cases with Ease by Hector Liamsi

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good for DVD but not Blu Ray, can be improved in general

It's pretty good. They are the same dimensions as the 30 CD product from the same US acrylic company. This creates a really nice and clean look to keep both CDs and DVDs in one place. You can stack them on CD holders and vice versa. Fabulous! My main concern is that some DVD cases fit too tightly into these holders to be practical. Part of the problem is that this product warps inwards in the middle in some cases. Another part of the problem is that some DVD cases are a bit taller than they should be. However, this could be corrected if the manufacturer trimmed the height of the plastic tabs that hold the DVD boxes a bit. The warpage that some of these holders have will be less of an issue, and case-to-case height differences will be minimized as a factor. main reasons for this. The first reason is that Blu-ray cases come in so many different shapes and sizes that you literally need 3 or 4 different models of acrylic Blu-ray drives to fit them. You may be familiar with both the standard Blu-ray case and the Blu-ray book type. You can also find BluRay in metal cans, slim cases and various box sets of different sizes. Until the studios make a decision and narrow the field down to at least one or two types, we won't be seeing an all-acrylic storage product for them any time soon. At best, we'll see storage for standard Blu-ray cases, but I doubt we'll see other types of storage holders. As I mentioned earlier, these DVD holders have the same dimensions as the 30 CD holders from the same company. This leads to reason #2 why there is no Blu-ray product. It is geometrically impossible to design a Blu-ray holder with the same dimensions as DVD and 30CD holders. The cases are not high enough to be aligned vertically and too high to be aligned horizontally in two columns. The piece should be 3/4 the width, or 1.5 times the width of two columns. Personally, that doesn't bother me, but it's definitely not as elegant a scenario as with our existing DVD and CD holders.
