Review on ๐Ÿ”ฌ VSON Formaldehyde Accurate Pollution Measuring: The Ultimate Solution for Precise Formaldehyde Detection by Carlos Barete

The best consumer air quality meter based on my testing

I come from an engineering and science background (over 30 years) so I was prepared for the compromises you would face The sensor and its measurements. I decided to buy some air quality monitors to assess and resolve some of the issues we were having and for future monitoring. Revain has no shortage of consumer-oriented monitors, and obviously knowing which ones are useful/real and well-executed is an adventure. I researched carefully and bought 4 monitors. I wrote a review about the worst of them. Now I am writing one for this VSON 6930 air quality monitor box which was the best. This VSON monitor has a powerful fan that delivers significant airflow through the meter, impressive customization options, exceptional feature set, excellent responsiveness to ambient conditions, and overall good accuracy for a consumer device. If you google, you will see that VSON specializes in these products. This product has many thoughtful features that underline that the supplier has cared about, improved and thought through the performance of the device. You can customize many aspects of it, including frequency and timing of data collection, alarm thresholds (yes, it has alarms), timestamps, and even air quality calculators. Crucially, it has a fully structured calibration process that you interact with and even allows you to adjust the offset for individual sensors - very impressive features not easily found on other products. It was good at identifying issues and comparing well in comparison to the other two devices that I found acceptable. If you're looking for those products, this one seems like the others and just another rebranded air quality meter. It's not, it's more of an outstanding product from a group of engineers who value quality. My impression is that they have studied other products and focused on making them better. Details missing from all other products also include proper placement of the airflow/fans at the top of the device instead of the bottom where you could block it with your hands, proper placement of the USB charging port on the side instead of the bottom. , an awesome screen and keyboard system, customizable screensavers and auto shut off and much more right through to the about screen showing the hardware version etc. All of this is quite a lot to get at this price point and this is an indication of attention to detail and quality. not easy to find in this product range. To update. I wanted to add a few important points to this review. If you're dealing with air issues in your home, you'll find very good use for the Dylos Particle Detector, which I also reviewed. Thresholds on devices like the Vson can't be crossed, but the issues your nose is talking about are there. But the Dylos Particle Detector always gives you a basic distinction between areas of the house as it counts fine particles, and in my experience your nose often does the same. Dylos correlated with my nose and found problems in several places that I didn't feel all the time, which was later confirmed to be a problem. The Dylos particulate matter counter can detect mold in some cases, but maybe not all, and I've had success. I will add that no one knows if the HCHO detection methods work particularly well on these cheap devices as they are often wrong. So when trying to distinguish between strangers in your home or office, multiple devices can come in handy.

Pros
  • Test, measure and verify
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
