I have two Hondas with their original OEM batteries and was concerned about the condition of the batteries. It's very difficult to get two cars into an auto parts store for testing (people who can be neutral about the results), so I bought an Actron CP7612 tester. It is easy to use to test battery and vehicle charging system. As other reviewers have pointed out, the tester can get very hot if the spring-loaded test switch is held in the on position for too long, but my unit only got warm during the 10-15 second test listed in the instructions. The product is strong enough for the do-it-yourselfer, with thick connection cables and a sheet metal housing that is rigid enough for the control element (heating coil) and measuring device.
