Review on KYB SM5484 Strut Mount Kit by Aaron Collins

Good design improvement over OEM strut mounts for Vue

I had a different experience than the first reviewer. The "plastic" bearing is actually Delrin and is often used in this application, there is nothing wrong with choosing a KYB material. I've done 2 sets of OEM A-pillars on my 2005 Vue Redline with only about 30,000 miles each, which is below average. Vue is notorious for its weak strut mounts, which are prone to premature failure. This is my third time installing the KYB kit and I've put 60,000 miles on it so far with no front end rumble. I think this is an excellent design that improves on the OEM design. DIY Tip: Make sure you set the "flat" edges on the top/bottom halves of the bracket AGAINST each other, or you'll get premature component failure due to improper suspension camber.
