Review on 💨 High Performance Light Gray Camair Bx100 Box Fan - Boost Air Circulation by Lisa Black

I bought this fan a week ago after buying (and returning) some window fans that didn't work very well. I just chose this fan because it has to be one of the quietest case fans money can buy and has been recommended on many "best" lists. It's pretty quiet for a case fan. It's loud at high levels (as loud as my Marpac Dohm Classic White Noise Sound Machine, White, so perfect if you like white noise), but you can still have a conversation or watch TV with it at medium or low levels with ease. It also generates enough airflow to satisfy me, and is stable enough to use without feet (carpet or whatever) on the floor. I really liked it until I woke up in the middle of the night from the smell of burning plastic. Didn't see it smoking or anything like that but it was quite annoying so I turned it off. I checked it again the next day (I was hoping I'd imagined an odor or something), but after a few hours it started making funny rattling noises and smelling like burnt plastic again, so I had to hand back. I don't see anyone I've complained about something similar happening to them with this fan (maybe something different, but no fire hazard or burning plastic) so I definitely got one of the lemons. I still liked this fan enough that I would buy another of the same model to replace it if I could find it for sale somewhere nearby. But no luck. It happened during a heat wave so I had to run out and buy one of those horrible $16 Lasko box fans (this really is the ONLY box fan I could find around here and I think it has to be one of the worst). I wish I could just wait a few days and order another Aerospeed. The Lasko blows a bit more up high but is less stable (can't use it without the legs which I'm sure I'll lose in a few days) and it's incredibly loud! It sounds like a goddamn lawn mower at any speed-- :(
