Review on HP Wireless Compact Travel Mouse Black by Stanislaw Malkinski ᠌

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Bad quality, not worth the spent money.

The mouse is only for one task - to use it for both a PC and a laptop at the same time, but for this you will have to put up with all its shortcomings. It looks tall in the photo, but it's actually pretty low. The 2 main drawbacks of the mouse for me are the rattling scroll wheel (noisy and unpleasant) and the protruding side buttons, so I can’t advise buying it even for those who don’t care about having one mouse for 2 PCs standing next to each other. In proprietary software, you can change the DPI (800 - 3000), see the battery charge and reassign the buttons. I will assume that the mouse is laser (and not optical), because. there is no backlighting from below, like in optical mice, a slight glow is visible only on the camera (not visible to the naked eye) and the dpi of the mouse reaches 3000.

Pros
  • - Looks good. - Pleasant body materials. - Pleasant deaf clicks of the left and right buttons. The volume of clicks is like that of other mice (high), but the clicks are not sonorous, but deaf. But I would prefer quiet pressing. - Ability to use simultaneously for PC and laptop (by clicking on the button to switch between devices on the mouse). Although I don't need it.
Cons
  • - The wheel is terrible! It has a backlash, so when you press it, 2 clicks are heard - first because of the backlash, then from pressing it. The pressing itself is very loud - 3 times louder than clicking on the button! Because of the backlash, you don’t want to use the scroll wheel - it’s loud and unpleasant - you constantly hear a knock (due to backlash) when you scroll the wheel. - The side buttons stick out too (!) and dig into the thumb (even if the hand is very small), so you always feel them with your finger when you take the mouse in your hands and drive it around the table. A rather unpleasant sensation, the thumb gets tired of this, I hope there will be no calluses. It would be better if they removed these 2 side buttons altogether - the mouse is simply inconvenient to use. - The middle button (above the wheel) is useless. It doesn't switch DPI - it's only for switching between 2 PCs. - The left and right mouse buttons are easy to press, but only at the base. If you press the buttons in the middle, you will need to make a little effort to press the button. Partly a nitpick, but I want more sensitivity of pressing, since there is no such problem on my other mice. - No Bluetooth USB adapter included. For such a price, they could put it. - Nothing on this mouse glows during operation; it is impossible to understand whether it is turned on or not, unless you move it around the table or go into the bluetooth settings / proprietary software. The two indicators on top light up only for a while - when you press the button above the wheel. - Drivers and firmware for it or not, or I could not find them on the official HP website. - Branded software must be downloaded through the Windows Store, and not through the official website. - Sensitivity setting is available only through proprietary software. - The package includes only the mouse itself and 2 batteries. - HP couldn't even make the instructions normally - I searched for the 2022 language in it for a long time - because. there is just a canvas of text, without flags or markings like EN / RU as in normal normal instructions.
