Having used dishwashers for at least 2 decades I never thought that rinse aid was necessary. I have always avoided them and usually associate them with an unnecessary object. I used to think that if your dishes got film or water stains, it was either water or dish soap to blame. A few months ago I recently started using rinse aid. Help in my dishwasher just to try. But because I didn't want to pay the price for a big brand, I've always opted for an all-purpose grocery store mouthwash. After using it for at least 8 months I found that while it does wash better, I noticed these weird "stains" on all my glasses, plates and everything in the dishwasher. It's hard to explain because I know those grains weren't food. They just felt like small little bumps and could be scratched. But they were on my crockery, cutlery and glasses. When I ran out of my last all-purpose mouthwash, I decided to try a branded mouthwash as a last resort. All I can say is WOW. This stuff works wonders. After multiple uses for 2 months I no longer have those weird spots but on top of that everything feels nice and shiny and shiny. No residue, no problem. I highly recommend this product.
