Review on Jetz-Scrubz J27 Scrubber Sponge: Versatile Cleaning Tool proudly Made in the USA by Reginald Ward

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Mine works great and is holding up well after 3 months - some theories about negative reviews.

Love this sponge - this is the ultimate solution after trying cheap sponges, dishcloths, brushes (with and without handles - I have an OXO sponge for glasses and the like). However, it's not that it cleans amazingly better than the cheap ones, it's just that it doesn't have to be thrown out every week. It seems a little softer, but I wouldn't trust it wouldn't scratch delicate surfaces any more than a regular sponge. But those cheap sponges start to smell disgusting after a few days - I can't stand them! This one seems to stay hygienic longer (dense material? holds less water for bacteria growth? no big holes for food scraps? not sure why) and I throw it in the dishwasher every few days. I'm embarrassed when people say it's falling apart. I got mine about 3 months old and looks brand new. I've read a lot of negative reviews and have a few theories: 1) A fake will be sent. Sometimes a successful product gets cheap copies. I don't know how I can't guarantee no counterfeits, but I recommend ordering from a Jetz Scrubz retailer rather than any other retailer. 2) For hard cleaning / with Bar Keeper's Friend. While I love The Bartender's Friend as much as any other person, I have a different sponge for that. I only use Jetz to wash dishes with detergent. It seems a lot of the reviews that complain about it falling apart use it for a harder clean than I do. 3) production change. A 2 star rating says they have been using them for 7 years and the latter don't last that long. Some people say it's made in China when it says "Made in the USA" (this could also be a fake). 4) Competitor Publications. Sometimes competitors post fake reviews to hurt business. I have no reason to believe this is the case, but it is important to remember that it is possible. At this price I would give the product two chances. If your first experiences are not very good, contact the company. Just buy another one and see if there's a big difference.
