I bought this replacement glass for the French press which I bought abroad over 10 years ago when the glass broke after accidentally falling in the sink. Having bought a French Press overseas I didn't think I could find a replacement for the glass but I measured the broken glass and found the correct size on the Bodum website. I'm pretty sure the replacement glass cost more than the entire unit I originally bought, but I'm glad it was available because I love the design and size of my french press and don't like any of the options for it . Sale. So far the replacement lens doesn't feel weaker than the original, but I'm just as careful using it as I was the first time. The glass tends to slip out of my press a bit at times because it's not glued to the press, but not enough to worry me.
